Title: Boy in Luv
Artist: BTS
Release Date: Feb. 11, 2014
Rating: 8 out of 10
My Say: BTS is probably my favorite rookie group right now and I do classify myself as an A.R.M.Y but I also try to be bias as little as possible. The video was....Um, good but the song was great though. I would have rated this video even lower if the choreography wasn't a main aspect of the video. The song is of course a love song and the video is themed around it, which is a "bad boy" falls for a girl and tries to get her. But what I saw in the video was straight up harassment and in the real world you'd get slapped for that.
Jung Kook, is that a cross I see around your next then what are you doing. Last time I checked, making you're friends attack the girl you like isn't what they teach at church. One of the lines of the song is I want to be to your oppa. If that's true and Jung Kook is chasing the girl then what is Jin doing. We all know, if Jung Kook is her oppa then she too young for you Jin. Suga, my sweet bias, why must you twist a girl's head, slam her against the wall, and point at her bare legs to show your affection, you're doing it all wrong. BTS needs a crash course on romance/flirting pronto because if I see another video like this they'll be getting beat down from my inner feminist.
Title: Spellbound
Artist: TVXQ!
Release Date: March 4, 2014
Rating: 9 out of 10
My Say: Yes, yes I know I posted version 2 and not the "1st version". It wasn't a mistake, I actually prefer this version and I think SM must of accidentally uploaded the previous video instead of this one. Anyway, TVXQ's Spellbound has a very jazzy sound to it and I've noticed more k-pop groups are experimenting with their music, rather than sticking to the normal "poppy" genre. The song itself is an another love song but the best thing about the video and what's really showcased is the dancing. Choreography is essential in a TVXQ music video but thanks to the lovely backup dancers, I think this is one of my favorite TVXQ video and choreography. I've said this before but their aren't many backup dancers that make an impression on the audience. These girls were fantastic, there were times where I focused more on the dancers than Yunho or Max. I'm glad that SM uses the same girls for the live performance because I can't get enough of these girl and hope to see them in many more projects to come. There's not much to say about this video expect that its fun, bright, and that you should definitely watch it. Oh and here's version 1 if you'd like to watch it.
